About the Company

GRANDEZA MEXICANA FOLK BALLET COMPANY was founded by Jose Vences in September 2003. Currently, Grandeza Mexicana Folk Ballet Company has over 30 dancers and is a non-profit performing arts organization. The company was formed to advance the field of Mexican folk ballet, enhance the public’s appreciation for the diversity and depth of Mexican culture, and to present high-quality dance productions.

With signature pride in the rich national culture, Grandeza Mexicana Folk Ballet Company presents high-caliber dance productions that represent the diverse regions of Mexico. Whether choreographic works depict celebrations, ceremonies, or daily rituals, they are a colorful slice of the flavor of Mexico. Backed by careful research, GMFBC’s choreography is committed to preserving the traditions and customs of Mexico’s historic past and promising present.

The Mission of the Grandeza Mexicana Folk Ballet Company is to perpetuate and showcase the splendor of Mexican Folk dance, and to cultivate and promote public awareness and appreciation of this rich and diverse cultural heritage.

Come join us for an unforgettable Dia de los Muertos celebration at the Old Adobe Mission IN OLD TOWN Scottsdale!

Immerse yourself in the vibrant culture and traditions of this Mexican holiday as we honor our loved ones who have passed away. At this in-person event, you'll have the opportunity to witness breathtaking altares y ofrendas (altars and offerings) created by talented local artists. These beautiful displays are adorned with colorful marigolds, photographs, and favorite mementos, all meant to welcome and remember the spirits of the departed.

Whether you're familiar with Dia de los Muertos or new to this rich cultural celebration, our event offers a unique and immersive experience for all. Join us at the Old Adobe Mission Scottsdale on North Brown Avenue and be part of this enchanting celebration of life and remembrance from 10 Am to 10 PM starting Monday, October 23rd.
